The Best Time To Plant. A Tree
Everybody starts compilations as the year end approaches, people feel they must review the achievements of the year which is about to shuffle off into the mist of history.
The New Year will bring new beginnings, a spring season of growth and hope and apparently learnings to bring change to what has passed.
It is a seminal moment.
But it's like having the cold Christmas turkey microwaved all over again .And again . And again.
The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the next best time is now...
We don't have to wait for a new year to have a new beginning , there are many legacies we bring with us from the past, our education, our friendships, our beliefs, which all determine who we are.
It is not a question of the time of year as to when we bring in change, it is a question of whether we want it to change.
Most people believe they are the victims of circumstance when something goes wrong for them, however they must realise it is their own actions which lead to how the particular circumstance plays out.
There is a leader in everyone, whether they lead from the front or from a position of support; what is most important is the belief that each and everyone can make a positive change, even in a sea of turmoil.
Recognition of the requirement of change, of circumstance or behaviour, is the first step.
You don't have to wait for a New Years Resolution to commit.
