Ryan Tubridy

So Tubridy goes back to 2fm.

Good move by the honchos in rte. Popular, commercially sponsorable, it's almost like Lanigan's Ball (now there was a song - groovy Julia!)

Only - the broadcaster appears to have placed its future on one person - 2 hours every day on radio, five days a week, replacing the irrepressable, irreplaceable Gerry Ryan on the biggest single drawing radio show in the country.
Oh and he also presents the biggest TV show in the country as well - The Late Late Show.
I suppose on benefit is that in this move , they have eliminated the opportunity for Tubridy to interview himself on either show - though Gerry Ryan did get there first in interviewing Tubridy for Ryan Confidential - hey now there's an idea - they could keep that brand alive as well.

I suppose the R in rte stands for Ryan now.
