The local elections are upon us, the European Elections are upon us and for some of the lucky ones - there are a couple of by elections also.
Irish Politics is great!
The amount of money being spent on posters and leaflets is hilarious- at a time when there is no money in the government coffers and the taxpayer is being hit once again for certain elements of greed.
The best ones for me are the amount of people running for local and the by elections saying - 'I will make your school a priority' - well like of course you will. Like you did over the last five years in local government. Yeah right.Spare me.
The other great one is the guy who is running for local and by electoral office - nothing like being sure you retain everything you have!
Lads - show some real LEADERSHIP in politics - state what you plan and then execute it.
If you don't execute it say why and what changes you are making as a result of this.
Setting up a committee to review why a committee didn't work is old style politics - make the change now - the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago - the next best time is now.
